Coach Ben Mudie

Ben first took up running in 2013 and it changed his life. He now wants to share that with others.

He is an experienced runner across cross country, track and road racing with a preference towards longer distance events. He’s completed 3 marathons including Gold Coast, Melbourne and Great Ocean Road and many half marathons and shorter events.

  • Qualified coach with Athletics Australia – Level 1 Run Leader and Level 2 Recreational Running
  • Familiar with a wide variety of coaching philosophies including the Australian method, Lydiard , Jack Daniels and Pfitzinger to name a few. Influenced by other coaches and athletes, mainly through his club Western Athletics.
  • Self-described running nerd.

Our Philosophy

    Enjoy running

    We believe that enjoying running is of the highest importance. You don’t have to love every single run. Let’s face it, hill repeats or a hard interval sessions are not always enjoyable. However overall you should be enjoying your running.

    Train Smart

    Consistency is key to achieving your goals.

    We’ll look at your training history and goals to design a periodised training program with the appropriate training volume, variety of works and recovery to get you fit while minimising the risk of injury.

    Adapt

    Training doesn’t always go exactly to plan. There are many factors in life that may impact your training. It’s important to monitor and adapt.

    That’s why you have ongoing communication and feedback available with your coach. We’ll provide advice and make adjustments along the way to keep you on track.
